Before SL Home Inspections, Steve Lanfredi was in the property management business for almost a decade.  Steve was rebuilding and restoring properties throughout the Providence area including older historical homes on the East Side, Edgewood and The Armory District.  He become a licensed contractor in 2001 and had a small crew of 1 or 2 workers.  The business was known as Neighborhood Renovation and grew.

Projects included small additions, basement remodeling, exterior renovations such as siding, painting and window replacement.

As a “hands on” contractor, Steve was involved in every aspect of each project big or small.  As the customer base grew, smaller handyman projects for past customers became part of the business.

As the condo market grew in the early 2000’s, Steve was involved in turning several older buildings in Providence into condominiums often gutting the old buildings to the core and collaborating with architects and building officials to move the projects forward and formed strong relationships with many Realtors across the state that still exists today.

As 2020 approached it was time for a change. Rhode Island was finally enacting laws to require Home Inspectors to become licensed.

SL Home Inspections began in 2020 and has grown steadily. With a clear understanding of the Real Estate process and 2 decades of building and remodeling experience, it was the perfect fit. Steve is also licensed in the State of Connecticut, is a member of NACHI  and has completed the New England onsite waste water training course and is licensed to perform septic system inspections.

Lastly and most importantly, Steve is committed to continued education and growth within the Home Inspection industry taking numerous continuing education classes both on line and in person. “If you love your profession you can never know enough”

For most people, the purchase of a home may be the biggest and most important investment in their lifetime.  Especially their first home.

As a home inspector, I have a process and examine carefully, each critical part of the home while documenting defects with a camera.

As the buyer, you are urged to trail along and learn about the house first hand. If defects are found I would explain the defects, how they can be fixed and which service professional to contact.

Either way a Home Inspection process is critical to making a home purchase.
